Our crews range from one to over ten members, tailored to the scope of each project. At the heart of every production is Chris Nostrand, who leads the team, while additional roles such as sound mixers, camera operators, and production assistants are filled by local professional freelancers.
CHRIS NOSTRAND, MFA
Filmmaker • Media Instructor • Founder of Nostrand Productions LLC
Chris Nostrand is an award-winning independent filmmaker and media instructor from New York’s Hudson Valley. He earned his MFA in Integrated Media Arts from Hunter College (2016), following undergraduate studies at SUNY New Paltz (2011) and SUNY Ulster (2009).
Based in Ulster Park, NY, Chris runs Nostrand Productions LLC and teaches media production at Marist University and SUNY Ulster. His work has been recognized with honors including Best Documentary Director at Harlem International Film Festival, Director’s Choice at Black Maria Film Festival, six Telly Awards, and The CINE Golden Eagle. His films have screened at festivals including Woodstock Film Festival, DOC NYC, and GI Film Festival.
